Care Givers

‘Like aeroplane passengers, let’s not forget to put on our own oxygen mask on. We are no good to our loved ones if we collapse under the strain’

Factors such as an ageing population has resulted in an increase in the number of working care givers. Sometimes referred to as the sandwich generation, many women are juggling work, parental responsibilities and caring for older family members

Your time is particularly constrained and neglecting your own needs and wellbeing often seems the simplest way to find more time. The consequences are likely to be stress and exhaustion.

I have a real empathy and I provide solution driven coaching and mentoring. I will offer you time and a safe space to pause and objectively reflect on your situation and discover where adjustments can be made to release time. Carers draw on so many strengths and qualities - resilience, communication skills and compassion being examples. These resources can easily get depleted. Together we will work on restoring these so that you will be physically, mentally and emotionally better able to manage stress and overwhelm.  You will be able to improve your work/life balance whilst continuing to support and enhance the lives of those you care for.

I recall there were times as a family care giver that I felt isolated and uncertain where to turn to for support and advice. Navigating the maze of care provision can be daunting - there is no ‘one stop shop’. I can share my experience and insights to help support you in your role as advocate for those you care for.
